The Spring edition of Landscape, The Journal of the Landscape Institute, featured ten short essays on the near future of landscape. It was introduced by a quote from William Gibson, “The future’s already here: it’s just not evenly distributed”, and it featured a photo essay by Ed that illustrated the contrast between the planning, occupation and control of Paternoster Square in London. Authors of other articles included: Anna Minton, Ian Thompson, Ruth Olden, Eleanor Lawrence, Paul Campbell, Jon Hazlewood, Simon Bell, Paul Reynolds and Rob Holmes. >>>

Ed submitted a book chapter for a forthcoming book on infrastructural urban design. The essay explores the interstitial spaces of the Westway in London through literature, planning and its use. The book follows the INFRASTRUKTURURBANISMUS conference organised by Thomas Hauck and Volker Kleinekort at TU Munich, www.infrastruktururbanismus.de, and is due to be published by DOM Publishers in the Autumn 2011. >>>
Ed has written an article for Topos 73: City Regeneration. The article reports on the Landscape Urbanism Biennale in 2010 and the many diverse projects that take an alternative view on landscape urbanism process.
Ed co-wrote an article for Landscape explaining the conceptual origins of the Roaming Forest project. The article explains the ambitions of the project and the potential issues involved with experimental installations such as this.

The book, Basics Landscape Architecture: Urban Design, was published by AVA Publishing in December 2009. This collaboration between Tim Waterman and Ed Wall is an introductory text examining the relationships between landscape and urban design. There were many generous contributions from colleagues and friends to realize this work – and, of course, the patient editing of Renee Last.
